Nicolas Berger
Responsible for origination, structuring oversight, and client relationships. Nicolas has spent his career in private credit and collateralised lending across European and Asian markets.
We arrange private, portfolio-backed credit for substantial holders of listed equity and securities — by introduction, with senior principals throughout, and never at retail.
Lombard Financing is a specialist Lombard-credit house based in Geneva. We exist to solve a single problem well: how a substantial holder raises liquidity against a listed-equity position or a securities portfolio without selling it. That is the Lombard loan — centuries-old in principle, and entirely a matter of structuring in practice.
We are an introducer and arranger of private, portfolio-backed financing. We structure the transaction, arrange the lending and the custody, and stay involved for the life of the facility. We do not operate a sales force, we do not publish a rate card, and we do not pursue retail business. Activities that require a regulatory licence are conducted through, or in collaboration with, entities holding the appropriate authorisation in the relevant jurisdiction.
The firm's posture is deliberately narrow. A Lombard loan is a considered transaction for a considered holder; it is arranged in confidence, on terms calibrated to the holdings, the markets, and the person. Our work is to make that transaction disciplined — the right loan-to-value, the right recourse, clean custody, and documentation that holds.
Enquiries are handled by senior principals from the first message. The firm's practice is led by three:
Responsible for origination, structuring oversight, and client relationships. Nicolas has spent his career in private credit and collateralised lending across European and Asian markets.
Leads credit and collateral structuring — loan-to-value calibration, recourse design, and pledge documentation. Isabelle's focus is the discipline that sits beneath the headline terms.
Leads market execution — exchange-specific eligibility, custody, cross-border settlement, and the disclosure regimes that shape each facility.
The firm's content is written and reviewed by its named principals. We do not publish fabricated credentials, boards, or awards; how our content is sourced and reviewed is set out in our editorial standards.
The firm is engaged by introduction or by direct, confidential enquiry. There is no obligation and no intermediary; a senior principal responds personally, typically within one business day. Material non-public information is neither requested nor required at the enquiry stage — indicative terms can be established from publicly available details about the position. The process then runs in five disciplined stages to funded capital.
